In My Portion Forever, Georgia Schmeichel has portrayed thoughtful and sensitive insight into the difficulties, expectations, and responsibilities of a Christian marriage in the midst of the world’s demands. While trying to balance raising two young children, teaching in a small Indian reservation school, providing support for her mother’s grief in the death of her father, and functioning as a rancher’s wife in rural South Dakota, the main character learns what it means to listen to the voice of God. This compelling novel will find the reader thinking often of the memorable characters and their struggles.

You certainly capture our area of SD. I can see vividly McLaughlin and Eagle Butte as well as our prairies. It is a sweet book that gives the reader a lot to ponder. It is also very well written, probably as it should be coming from a teacher. Over the years, I taught students like Vonnie. Some I could connect with, some I couldn’t. So many children have such sad home lives and you captured that. Sometimes, no matter how much you try, the baggage these kids come with cannot be unpacked. Your book had so many things to think about. I could relate to Sarah. My husband has been gone for 13 years. Some things you never quit missing.

My Portion Forever engages you from the moment you begin reading. Georgia's gift of writing weaves mystery, love, intrigue and excitement, all the ingredients necessary for a beautiful story that also teaches a valuable lesson. The only downside is I didn't want it to end! I look forward to the sequel.

Find The Connection To God

God is always enough. Sometimes we forget that. Many of us face challenges without knowing that God is sufficient to meet all our needs. Often, financial woes, family problems, or the death of a loved one leads to uncertainty and despair. Lacking a close relationship with God, we feel alone and hopeless. Life quickly spins out of control, and thousands of people around the world suffer in silence because they don’t know where to turn. In a dark world, there is a sense of urgency for a brighter tomorrow.

Have you recently experienced a traumatic event in your life? For some, it’s hard to reach out for help while others hold steadfastly to their faith. They know that God understands their problems and wants to help them.  Always remember that you’re not alone. Don’t be a person who lives a life separated from the love of God. Don’t miss the pure joy He offers. It’s never too late to know God through the saving grace of Jesus. You will find the love and hope you need despite your situation. God is our refuge throughout our lives. He’s the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He wants His children to live an abundant life.

A relationship with God is the start of a fulfilling life. Georgia Schmeichel’s newly released Christian novel leads readers to the heart of God where He is waiting to be everything we’ll ever need.

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 ESV
